End of Life Doulas

What an end-of-life doula does

Their services are tailored to the needs of each family and may include:

• Helping individuals understand and discuss end-of-life wishes.
• Facilitating conversations among family members about goals of care.
• Assisting with advance care planning and legacy projects.
• Providing companionship during the final weeks, days, or hours of life.
• Offering respite and emotional support to caregivers.
• Guiding families through the actively dying process by explaining common physical changes.
• Creating a peaceful environment through music, readings, meditation, or rituals requested by the individual.
• Supporting the family immediately after death until the funeral home arrives.
• Connecting families with hospice, funeral homes, grief counselors, attorneys, and other resources.

This is an active list of End of Life Doulas that have visited Serenity Ridge Natural Burial Cemetery and have expressed interest in natural burial. This list will continue to grow over the next several months
